Unlike most career-spanning, multi-disc retrospectives. Having Jack Irons and now Matt Cameron playing drums since have let PJ expand musically, but Dave A's power and speed can be nice to hear every now and then. Spanning two discs, Rearviewmirror (Greatest Hits 1991-2003) chronicles that journey and it does an expert job not only of capturing the moment when Pearl Jam were monstrously popular, but proving that they still turned out good music even when they were fading from the spotlight. Great show, you get to hear how the band sounded with the brute power of Dave Abbruzzeze on drums. If you can find a radio station set of the whole show, that might be the way to go, and you very well might be able to do it for less money than what it would cost to get the 3 disc Sony European set. Other giveaway discs had some, but not all of the show.

This concert was broadcast nationally on radio, and a number of stations made recordings for themselves for later broadcast, or as giveaways in contests for listeners to win. If you want the entire show, and want an "official" and not a bootleg copy, keep your eyes out on eBay or elsewhere for a radio station promotional 2 disc set. So if you get the official European 3 disc set, you're missing out on four great songs.

Sony also didn't want to include the upcoming Vitalogy songs that were part of this set (off the top of my head, Not For You, Whipping, and Last Exit), plus their cover of the Dead Boys' Sonic Reducer.

You might have to spend 75 to 100 dollars to put the set together, at least if you want to get the copy of disc one that comes in the special packaging that also houses discs two and three. Disc one in the special package, and discs two and three go for a lot of money. I'm not sure if putting together the 3 disc European Sony/Epic set would be the best way to go, although the packaging is very cool.
